Who we are?
In 1986, a small shop selling religious items opened near the Central Market in Port Louis at Rue Farquhar. Its founder was Mr Jeewonlall Shiw Maharaj (late) and he named the shop Handibeads Ltd. Now 30 years later, Handibeads Ltd has expanded to two shops and we proudly serve all the communities in Mauritius.
Our large range of products include: traditional Indian musical instruments, statues of different deities, religious items, Feng Shui products, crystal and semi-precious stones, incense sticks and other decorative items. Our quality products are manufactured locally or imported from various parts in India.
Our vision
Our pioneer, the late Mr Jeewonlall Shiw Maharaj, had a vision: help everyone understand better the Hindu culture and become more spiritual by promoting quality, authentic items to all users. Following into his footsteps our director (his son) also brought to the company a variety of products to initiate its users in making use of good, reliable and authentic items so as to achieve the objectives that they seek from them.
Our quality products
We import most of our products from Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Varanasi and other parts of India. We are always on the lookout for reliable suppliers of quality products with sustainable prices.
Our products are sold island-wise. HandiBeads Ltd has made a name in this sector as our customers know and trust our products and brands.
We also export to Rodrigues, Reunion and South Africa.
What's ahead
HandiBeads Ltd has expanded to include another sales outlet in the centre of Mauritius. Our new shop is also a landmark in this region with a strong clientele base.
We are planning to introduce a wider range of quality brands to decrease the flow of poor quality products entering the market. We want to increase the local awareness on the advantages of using reliable and quality products and add to the spiritual education of our customers.
